Born, raised and educated in the San Francisco Bay Area, Richard Murai now teaches creative photography in Northern California's Central Valley. His ongoing fascination with documenting sacred sites of the world has generated travel to locations within India, Peru, Turkey, Egypt, Russia, Asia and Western Europe.

In addition to ongoing exhibitions, recent publications include Lenswork and Camera Arts. His Angkor images will be featured in an upcoming issue of Maoa Journal 16:1 - In the Shadow of Angkor, University of Hawaii Press.
